    At the heart of our course is the goal of equipping educators with confidence and expertise to provide students with a strong foundation in mathematics. 

    Through a focus on mastery of skills, understanding of concepts, and their practical application, we aim to support educators in guiding students towards success in mastering the Virginia 2023 Mathematics Standards of Learning.

    Audience:  Teachers, mathematics specialists, instructional leaders, and anyone interested in a straightforward yet impactful approach to understanding the 2023 mathematics standards.

    Grade Bands: K-8, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry

    Enrollment Fee:  $30

    Recertification Points:  20 points earned for successful completion of  tasks, discussions, and personal reflections (electronic certificates will be provided).

    A Deep Dive into Word Problems for Elementary Teachers

    Embrace a student-centered approach where discovery and exploration take center stage.

    Guided by the principles of the Virginia Department of Education and our steadfast belief in fostering reasoning, representation, and reflection, these sessions will revolutionize your classroom dynamics. 

    Session 1:  Thursday, April 18, 2024

    Dive into the art of estimation and representation as we guide you through the intricate world of single-step and multi-step problems using whole numbers. Learn to guide students through strategic problem-solving approaches that have the potential to ignite their confidence!

    Audience:  These Zoom sessions are ideal for elementary teachers in grades 3, 4, and 5.  Math coaches and specialists will find the ideas and resources useful.  All educators are welcome.
